If you have two miscarriages or more you will fall under the category of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL).
Evaluation includes genetic testing for both partners, hormones, clotting problems, ruling out undiagnosed uterine factors, testing sperm DNA, subtle ovulation issues, and finally possible immunological factors where the natural killer cells(N-K cells) of the immune system turns against normal and genetically competent embryos!
Despite of extensive work up, significant proportion of cases with recurrent pregnancy loss remains unexplained! |
